Legal

Terms & privacy, in plain words.

How Parley works as a service, what we do with your data and what we promise in return.

1. Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between Parley (“we”) and the company that creates a workspace (“you”). By creating a workspace or adding agents to one, you accept them on behalf of your company.

You may use Parley to answer your own customers. You are responsible for the content your agents and automations send, and for having the right to process your customers' messages.

2. Plans and billing

Plans are billed per agent seat, monthly or yearly in advance. Adding seats mid-term is prorated to the day; removing seats takes effect at the next renewal.

If a payment fails we retry for 14 days and email your admins. After that the workspace becomes read-only until the balance is settled. We never delete data because of a failed payment.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Parley to send unsolicited bulk messages, to impersonate another business, or to collect payment card numbers in tickets or chats. We may suspend a workspace that puts other customers or the service at risk, and we'll tell you why.

4. Privacy

For the conversations in your workspace, you are the controller and we are your processor. We process your customers' messages only to provide the service, and we don't sell them or use them to train models for anyone else.

For your own account — the people on your team — we collect what we need to run the product: names, work emails, sign-in events and how features are used.

  • Data is stored in the US by default, or the EU on request.
  • Backups are encrypted and kept for 35 days.
  • Deleted tickets are removed from backups within 35 days.
  • You can export every ticket, customer and article at any time.

5. Subprocessors

We use a small number of vendors for hosting, email delivery and payments. The current list, and 30 days' notice of any change, is available to admins under Settings → Security.

6. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit and data at rest. Agents can use two-factor authentication on every plan, and Enterprise workspaces can require single sign-on. Report a vulnerability to security@parley.example; we reply within one business day.

7. Changes to these terms

We'll email admins at least 30 days before a change that affects you. If you don't agree, you can cancel before it takes effect and we'll refund any unused time on a yearly plan.
